TRNC Deputy PM and Foreign Secretary Kudret Ozersay said that the work in Varosha was not gong to drag on forever and wowed to find a solution to the issue without jeopardising the property rights of the rightful owners.

Mr Ozersay also promised on the live TV show on state TV that he would organise a press vsit to the closed town very soon.

We had to come up with an out of the box move regarding Varosha due to the fact that the faith of the town was attached to a comprehensive solution and that the longer that took the more it was staying a s ghost town Mr Ozersay said.

Pointing out the importance of being in line with international law Mr Ozersay argued that no one should use the UN Security Council Regulations to handcuff the Turkish Cypriots, and added that his move on Varosha was a step closer to international law not the opposite.

Mr Ozersay also reiterated his view regarding the natural gas turmoil going on in the Eastern Mediterranean, stating that cooperation through companies could be possible on the issue without getting tangled into the recognition debate.

If we are able to authorise private companies, why dont we negotiate through them to avoid the fruitless debate on regarding who recognises who and whos status will be enhanced he said.

Reiterating that he had put this idea forward 8 months ago and time had proven him right, Mr Ozersay said that a company could be formed by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, authorised and then that same company could start cooperating with the other private companies that are active in the area.

If there is a will there is a way said the Turkish Cypriot FM, insinuating that the Greek Cypriot side had no intention to cooperate or share the potential natural gas resources on and around the Island.
