Minister Of Labour and Social Security Faiz Sucuošlu announces amnesty for undocumented foreign workers in line with the %20 illegal work force in the country.

TRNC Minister of Labour and Social Security Faiz Sucuošlu announced that there was going to be an amnesty regarding foreign illegal workers and the amnesty bill was going to be presented to the parliament as soon as the new term started.

Speaking on a televised interview with BRT’s Levent Kutay, Mr Sucuošlu made it clear that the move didn’t include an amnesty on immigration and it was only a part of the battle against undocumented workers from foreign countries who were working without social security and other documentation.

Minister Sucuošlu said that the 2018 figured showed that over 20 percent of the foreign work force in the country was undocumented.

Mr Sucuošlu also announced that they were working on a bill that would encourage disabled employment with generous incentives form the government for those who chose to do so.

He also added that work permit applications were able to be made online as from Monday.
