Greek Cypriot side only pretends to negotiate says HP MPThe Peoples Party (HP) Member Of Parliament and Former Diplomat Erek Çağatay said that the Greek Cypriot Side was using the Republic of Cyprus that they had seized from the Turkish Cypriots for economic, social and political gains.

The Peoples Party (HP) Member Of Parliament and Former Diplomat Erek Çağatay said that the Greek Cypriot Side was using the Republic of Cyprus that they had seized from the Turkish Cypriots for economic, social and political gains.

Mr Çağatay said that the Greek Cypriot side was using the comfort of the Republic of Cyprus to integrate more with the world, therefore in order to not spoil their comfort they were sitting at the table doing nothing but pretending to negotiate.

“The international community unfortunately is preparing the basis for the Greek Cypriots to act in this manner by accepting them as the government of the whole of Cyprus” Çağatay said.

Stating his belief that a federation as a solution model on the table did nothing but serve the status quo, Mr Çağarat usa id that it was time to start exploring other possibilities and brirning them to the negotiation table

“The Turkish Cypriot people do not have the luxury of losing another 50 years, waiting for the Greek Cypriot sides new requests. We also want to embrace the world” he said.
