Ozyigit leaves the door open for a collaboration with DP

A committee of Democrat Party (DP) visited Communal Democracy Party (TDP) today on the occasion of constituting a joint opposition in the parliament.

A committee of Democrat Party (DP) visited Communal Democracy Party (TDP) today on the occasion of constituting a joint opposition in the parliament.

General Secretary of Democrat Party, Afet Ozcafer said that they paid a visit to TDP in terms of exchanging ideas on upcoming Laws that will come to the attention of parliament in the new legislative year as well as discuss the recent progressions on Cyprus talks.

Highlighting the importance of liaising together on the Cyprus talks, Ozcafer expressed her constructive wish for all political parties represented in parliament to reach a consensus.

In response to Ozcafer, President of Communal Democracy Party Cemal Ozyigit pointed out that during the quadruplet coalition time, his party realized fruitful and constructive collaborations in various issues with Democrat Party.

In addition to this, Ozyigit also said that Communal Democracy Party will continue to play active and constructive role on fundamental issues and his party is always open for dialogue and exchange of ideas with other parties.

Reminding the key differences with DP particularly on Cyprus problem, Ozyigit mentioned that it is possible to develop a collaboration with DP on the issues where two parties have convergences.

Ozyigit also drew attention on Cyprus talks which reached to a critical phase in his words after the recent contacts of President Akinci in New York.

As the outcome of New York contacts, we are initially hoping for tripartite and then quintuplet meetings Ozyigit added.
