On the agenda of Turkish Cypriot newspapers today, the head on crash at Turunclu-Ulukisla Junction on Sunday evening that has left 3 dead and 2 seriously injured was widely covered on the first pages by the newspapers.

Sharing the scenes from the funeral ceremony of Hasim Girgin, Yahya and Aysun Amasyali who lost their lives in the car accident, many newspapers pointed out the lack of road safety as the main reason of the terrible accident.

Touching upon the lack of road safety at Lefkosa-Gazimagusa Highway, Yeni Bakis newspaper used The Governmet is as guilty as the drivers headline on their front page.

In the same line with Yeni Bakis, Kibris newspaper also pointed out the awaiting improvements on road safety and shared the sad pictures from funeral with the headline Our people shall not die on the roads anymore.

Carrying the pictures of 24 victims of traffic accidents who lost their lives last year on their front page, Havadis newspapers used the title No actions only deaths focusing on the lack of road safety measures and excessive speed. In addition to Havadis, Yeniduzen newspaper also used Tear drop and outbreak headline on their front page questioning the uncontrollable number of accidents and losses.

Apart from the terrible accident that deeply sadden the whole country, the lifting of the immunity of Former Prime Minister and National Unity Party (UBP) MP Huseyin Ozgurgun was also on the front pages of the nationals today.
