Minister of Interior Affairs Aysegul Baybars stated that online applications for resident permits will be in force on 23rd of October in her speech delivered at the Assembly session today.
Replying the question about the draft of Citizenship Law, Baybars reminded the growing social and economic problems due to the increase of the population and added that UBP-HP coalition attached great importance on new Citizenship Law.
Pointing out the complaints on insufficient services in hospitals, schools as well as the negative effects of unregistered population in the society, Baybars stated that new Citizenship Law is a pre-requisite for better services and surplus value of the economy.
In response to the question related with a population policy, Baybars accepted the unbalance between total population and capabilities of social services and added that this unbalance was visable particularly in social services such as hospitals and schools.
Underlining the importance of stability between population and capabilities of services for the better future, Baybars also declared that the population growth rate of TRNC is around %1.5 which is above the standards of European Union.
