New unit starts to detect illegal electricity usageTurkish Cypriot Electric Administration (Kib-Tek) has established a new unit in regards to identify and prevent the illegal usage of electricity.

Turkish Cypriot Electric Administration (Kib-Tek) has established a new unit in regards to identify and prevent the illegal usage of electricity.

In a statement published on Wednesday, the administration underlined that through the Automatic Meter Management System, the illegal electric usages will be detected and delivered to the new unit for further legal prosecution.

In addition, administration also stated that the first illegal electricity usage was detected in Kucuk Kaymakli and added that technicians of the administration visited the location with police officers.

After the investigation, the officials of Kib-Tek confirmed the illegal usage of electricity and police officers initiated legal proceedings against the resident.
