Speaking exclusively to Haber Kibris Chief Editor Hüseyin Ekmekçi, Deputy PM Kudret Özersay slammed the speculations his candidacy for Presidency was part of the bargaining before the formation of the coalition government that he is part of.

“If I bargained with UBP, how come there are four potential candidates in the party” said Özersay.

Reminding his stance regarding lifting the immunity of UBP MP Hüseyin Özgürgün Mr Özersay said slammed those who claimed that he had set aside his party’s principles for the sake of a ticket to the presidency.

“Only two weeks ago I looked a lot of UBP members in the ye and told them that their party had the right to nominate its own candidate and no one including the coalition partner didn’t have the right to intervene with this decision” he said reminding the joint meeting of the cabinet in Guzelyurt
