Minister of Social Works and Transportation Tolga Atakan has emphasized the necessity to allocate the charges of traffic penalties and road tax payments to his Ministry.

Highlighting the lack of available funds to improve the measures of traffic safety and road maintenence works, Minister Atakan pointed out that all the revenue genarated from traffic directed to Ministry of Finance.

A total amount was 155 million TL that generated from charges of trafic penalties androad taxpayments in 2018. If the Ministry of Social Works and Transportation could received this amount, we will be able to focus on the due projects for road safety and improvements. In relation with the two year project that covers 1600km road network, Ministry of Transportation is in need of 280 million TL Minister Atakan stated.

Responding to the question related with the road projects, Atakan also added that some of the higways have serious problems but the projects on the required maintenence works were on the table and when the available funds allocated to his ministry all the road projects will be finished in a short time.
