The Chairman of Chamber of City Planners Merter Refikoglu argued that the revisions on the Master Plan on Gazimağusa-İskele-Yeniboğaziçi would provide more problems rather than offer the solutions to the existing problems.

In a written statement published by the Chamber on Tuesday, Chairman Refikoglu claimed that the views of Assocaitons of Environment, Trade Associations and resident of Magusa have been disregarded with the recent revisions made on Master Plan.

“The latest revisions made by the officials on the Master Plan that permits new areas available for new constructions obviously served the interests of some construction companies in the region” Refikoglu warned.

In the published statement Chairman Refikoglu argues that the latest verison of the plan imperils the farming areas, streams, sea sides and forests in the region and underlined the huge difference between the first draft and latest version of the Master Plan.
