Globally known Giant American fast food chain Burger King is preparing to open first “official” restaurant in N. Cyprus at Bogaz.

In a news report published in Kibris Postasi on Thursday, it was stated that after the agreement reached between Turkish shareholder of Burger King with Chinese Citi Group , all the restaurants of the company which have been operating under the name of “Burger City” in N. Cyprus will be upgraded to global standards along side with the name, menus and other facilities.

In the news report prepared by Ertugrul Senova, it was reminded that American companys’ earlier attempt to enter the Turkish Cypriot market be precluded about 20 years ago by the representative of Greek Cypriot shareholders of the company which forced Turkish Cypriot shareholders to operate the chain under the name of Burger City.

It was underlined that the new agreement reached between Turkish shareholder of Burger King, TAB Food with Chinese Citi Group has played important role for the implementation of decision.

The news report in Kibris Postasi also informed readers that after the launch of first official Burger King restaurant in Bogaz, the other restaurants of the company which have been operating under the name of Burger City will be upgraded in accordance of global standards of the company.

The decision of Giant American company to open officialy confirmed Burger King restaurants in N. Cyprus has been evaulated as the first succesful move to break down the embargo on Turkish Cypriot community by the political circles.
