Local Administration expert Deniz İscioglu emphasized the requirement to increase the capacity of municipalities in regards to prevent the potential floods in N. Cyprus.

In the face of flood dangers revealed with the start of the winter season in N. Cyprus, Dr. İscioglu emphasized the necessity of integral infra structure system in regards to prevent the repetition of same danger.

In the interview published in Kibris Postasi on Thursday, Local Administration expert İscioglu said it was out of reach of 28 munipalities to prevent the danger of floods due to the lack of infra-structure, budget and personnel and added that argued that special braches should be formed within the municipalities particularly on prevention of floods.

Highlighting that the special braches in municipalities should consider population, available infra structure and services, Ms. İscioglu underlined the requirement to increase the capacities of the municipalities in terms of implementing preventive measures.
