Slamming the earlier criticisms of some politicians on Turkish Cypriot newspapers and journalists, Mrs. Derya asked While the casino owners have been receiving enormous amount of support from the state for many years, which part of Media Support project that aimed to provide income for insurance payment of press workers exactly created disturbance for you?

Highlighting that Media Support project aimed to support institutional press organs, CTP MP Derya said it was really hard to understand the objections for a program that aimed to register to the rights of the press workers.

In her statements, CTP MP Derya also touched upon the harsh economic conditions in the circles of Turkish Cypriot media that open the doors for casino owners to own media institutions in N. Cyprus.
