What the papers say Nov 7

In the news reports of Turkish Cypriot press on Thursday, Havadis newspaper carried out the meeting of leaders of Republican Turkish Party (CTP) and Greek Cypriot Progressive Party of Working People (AKEL)  in their headline. Using the “If there is a willpower, there would be a resolution” headline, paper highlighted the call of leaders for a progression in upcoming tripartite meeting in Berlin.

Using the “If there is a willpower, there would be a resolution” headline, paper highlighted the call of leaders for a progression in upcoming tripartite meeting in Berlin.

With the headline “Execution getting softer, what about interest rates”, Kibris newspaper touched upon the new amendments in Civil Proceedings Law in their front page.

Apart from Kibris newspaper, Yeniduzen preffered to focus on the new amendments in retirement salaries. Scrutinizing the level of retirement salary, paper underlined that a retired employee from Social Insurance after paying fee for 25 years could only received 2.040TL in accordance of new amendments in Law.

In Kibris Postasi headline, the readers came across with the remarks of Near East University (NEU) owner Suat Gunsel “Water is free for me”. In relation with the news report, the dispute between NEU and Municipality of Lefkoşa on unpaid water bills for several years put to the front by the paper. On the ongoing conflict between two institutions the owner NEU has been refusing to pay important amount of fee for water consumption to Mucinipality.

In the front page of Afrika newspaper on Thursday, paper pointed out the announced results of the political poll conducted to measure the potential votes for the upcoming Presidential election. Using the headline “Perception operation agianst Akinci” paper argued that the survey designed to indicate National Unity Party (UBP) leader Ersin Tatar as the leading candidate for the run.
