What the papers say Nov 8

In Kibris newspaper front page on Friday, the paper touched upon the conflicted data prepared by officials on annual budget of the state. Highlighting the headline “Budget has conflictual subjects”, the news report gave place to the Chairman of Cyprus Turkish Civil Servant Trade Union (KTAMS) Devrim Barcin remarks on the conflictual issues on upcoming budget discussions in the parliament.

In Kibris newspaper front page on Friday, the paper touched upon the data prepared by officials on annual budget of the state. Highlighting the the headline “Budget has conflictual subjects”, the news report gave place to the Chairman of Cyprus Turkish Civil Servant Trade Union (KTAMS) Devrim Barcin remarks on the conflictual issues on upcoming budget discussions in the parliament.

With the title “Much more cement” Yeniduzen newspaper pointed out the danger of new constructions in accordance of new Master Plan of Mağusa-İskele-Yenibogazici in their front page. Quoting the experts statements on new Master Plan, paper underlined that the Master Plan that aimed to provide support to sustainable development in the region unfortunately leaves the door open for new developments on touristic and agri-cultural areas.

The dispute between Near East University (NEU) and Municipality of Lefkoşa over unpaid water bills between 2006-2019 higlighted in the front page of Kibris Postasi on Friday. Providing information about the ongoing case in the court, paper carried out the statement of NEU officials that they never received a bill from municipality but the lawyer of Municipality of Lefkoşa proved the bills issued for NEU.

In Havadis newspaper, the headline “10 Million TL worth unearned income” pointed out the ASKA Power companys’ jenerator that the officials refused to pay warehouse rent for three years. The news report argued that company transferred the giant jenerator out of Cyprus without paying the required warehouse rent that amounts to 10 Million TL.
