What the papers say Dec 2In Kibris newspaper headline on Monday, the news report touched upon the law of seizure that came into force in Turkish Cypriot community. Highlighting that two opposition party- Communal Democracy Party (TDP) and Resurrection Party (YDP) aimed to carry out the case to the Constitutional Court, the news report also drew attention to the huge risks of important number of citizens who would be affected negatively in accordance of the regulations of the new law.

In Kibris newspaper headline on Monday, the news report touched upon the law of seizure that came into force in Turkish Cypriot community. Highlighting that two opposition party- Communal Democracy Party (TDP) and Resurrection Party (YDP) aimed to carry out the case to the Constitutional Court, the news report also drew attention to the huge risks of important number of citizens who would be affected negatively in accordance of the regulations of the new law.

The low standards of road safety at Degirmenlik-Girne road that caused several traffic accidents resulted with deaths in last three years carried out to the headline of Yeniduzen newspaper on Monday. The news report titled “3 Deaths, Three Years and Same Road” questioned the continuous poor standards of the mentioned road despite the high record of traffic accidents.

With the title “Horrific Numbers”, Havadis newspaper pointed out to the statistical numbers of seized drugs by Narcotic department in 2019. The news report that underlined around 94 kg. Cannabis, 2 kg. Bonsai and Cocaine have been seized by the officials, Havadis newspaper highlighted the success of narcotic team amid the increasing number of drug related cases.

In Kibris Postasi, the headline “Uncertainty of Brexit Bothering” focus on the undetermined conditions of Turkish Cypriot students studying in UK due to the uncertainty of Brexit. Drawing attention to the remarks of Minister of Education Cavusoglu that Turkish Cypriot students will be not be affected from the Brexit, the news report reflected the ongoing anxiety of Federation of Turkish Cypriot students over the issue.

A scholar in Political Science Sevki Kiralp statement “Either a resolution or a permanent partition” Yeni Bakis newspaper shed light to the undetermined future of Cyprus talks. Questioning the political circles to put forward two state approach for the resolution of Cyprus dispute, the news report underlined Kiralp’s statement that even Unmovable Property Commission remained without a function since its establishment.
