75 total HIV cases in N. Cyprus announces Ministry of Health

The Ministry of Health announced 13 new HIV case has been detected in 2019 and the total number of HIV viruses raised to 75 in Turkish Cypriot community.

The Ministry of Health announced 13 new HIV case has been detected in 2019 and the total number of HIV viruses raised to 75 in Turkish Cypriot community.

In a public statement published on Monday as part of remembrance of December 1 World AIDS Day, Ministry of Health drew attention to the rise of HIV cases despite the continuous informative campaigns.

Highlighting the statistical data prepared by World Health Organization, the statement reminded that 37 million people have been infected by the virus and %60 of the infected people have been receiving antiretroviral treatment. The statement also informed that 770 thousand people lost their life due to the virus.
