New amendments on Green line regulation risk confidence-building measures says CTP leader

Republican Turkish Party leader Tufan Erhurman said the new amendments confirmed by Greek Cypriot cabinet on implementation code of Green Line regulations could damage the proceedings on confidence-building measures between two sides.
During his speech at the parliament on Monday, Erhurman drew attention to the role of people coming from south in the income growth in Turkish Cypriot economy and requested from coalition government to research on the details of the amendments that hold the potential to damage the relationship between two sides.
CTP leader Erhurman added that the move of Greek Cypriot government also could be connected with the problems with confidence-building measures between the opposing sides and issued a call to government officials to inform the public agenda about the matter in a short period of time.
In relation with the school construction accident occurred in Girne that left 5 workers injured on Saturday, Erhurman emphasized that the discussions over the accident should be based on the report prepared by the competent authorities despite the attempt of Minister of Education Cavusoglu’s defensive statement on the issue.
Main opposition party leader Erhurman also directed a question to the coalition government about the Atlasglobal Airlines which announced they halted their flights for a considerable period of time.
Erhurman said the announcement of Atlasglobal Airlines could be comprehended as a new risk for Turkish Cypriot community and called officials to declare the road map in the face of Atlasglobal Airlines loss.
