Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources announced on Thursday that the initial proceedings on the underground dam project in N. Cyprus launched with the study visit of technical committee from Turkey.

In a written statement published by the ministry, it was stated that the technical committee from Turkish Directorate of State Hydraulic Works came to the island on Wednesday and the officials from both countries launched initial study work on the underground dam project.

In the initial ground search phase of the project, officials focused on the pre-determined ground water provinces and extend their investigations about the potential spots that would be available to store the underground waters.
