Round table discussions underway with Çavuşoğlu

The meeting that is including all the leaders of the political parties represented in the TRNC General Assembly is under way at the Presidency as part of Turkish FM’s visit to the Island.

The meeting that is including all the leaders of the political parties represented in the TRNC General Assembly is under way at the Presidency as part of Turkish FM’s visit to the Island.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu met with the President Mustafa Akinci as first item on his agenda today where then President Aknci and Mr Cavuşoğlu moved on to the round table meeting where UBP Leader and Prime Ersin Tatar, HP Leader and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Kudret Ozersay, Mani Opposition Party CTP Leader
Tufan Erhürman with DP, TDP and YDP Leaders Serder Denktaş, Cemal Ozyiğit and Erhan Arikli are present.
The meeting was scheduled to take place 25 minutes after Mr Cavuşoğlu’s arrival to to the Presidential Palace due to the plan for President Akinci and the Minister Çavuşoğlu to have a tete-a-tete meeting. However the two men’s meeting continued for more than expected and the round table discussions commenced more than an hour after its scheduled time.
The round table discussions that has included all political parties is an exercise that Turkey understands all the views regarding the Cyprus talks at critical junctures such a Jane Hall Lutes last weeks shuttle diplomacy that ended without a concrete outcome
