Turkish drill vessel Yavuz which was returned to Mersin port for maintenance after finalizing its activities around Karpaz peninsula last week headed towards Paphos coasts for new drilling operation.

The new route of Turkish vessel identified from online ship tracking system provided evidence that Yavuz headed towards Paphos area where other two Turkish drill ships Fatih and Oru Reis have been continuing to search for new gas resources around the island.

Related with Yavuz vessels new destination, Ankara has not issued any official declaration yet whereas Greek Cypriot media argued that nothing came out from Yavuz drilling activities and there was no point for the vessel to continue its activities specifically at Karpaz area.

Turkish Energy Minister Fatih Dnmez in his latest statement on drilling activities mentioned that Yavuz vessel was getting ready for new operation without providing any information about the destination on last Tuesday.
