Bad hair dye job, help please?
I asked the salon to dye my hair to blood red but didn't get the color I hoped it would be. At all. It turned out rather mahogany, stale and just seems freakishly unnatural. Doesn't match with any of my clothes either.

It'd be greatly appreciated if someone could recommend a specific hair dye to fix this problem as I can't even stand looking at my hair in the mirror anymore lol. Your hair looks much more pink than red. I hope you chewed out the stylist good. They should fix it free of charge, but if for some reason they won't or you just don't want the hassle here is my solution for you. My hair has the red color you are going for,( mine is only streaked though), and I achieved it by using L'oreal Paris Colour Rays hair dye. I got it at Wal-Mart for 15 bucks or so.
It is supposed to be used on dark hair, but last time I dyed my hair with it I put a streak of it in my nieces hair ,( blond), and it just came out a bit brighter. As someone already said, those colors don't tend to stay in very long. That is true with his one too, but I do find it stays in better than other hair-dyes I've used. Once it starts to wash out the hair under it is lighter than when you began.
One more thing, it says it is to be used with highlighting only and not the whole head. I'm not a hair stylist so you have to promise not to sue me for telling you this, but my neighbor used it to dye all her hair and it worked just fine.

Note- I just read what one girl said about the drug store kind looks metallic and fake. Normally I would agree, but this one really does work well. As for looking fake- of course it will look fake, no one really has blood red hair!
