The construction of a reflecting telescope?
I would like to build a telescope, I hope to build one with a 14-inch parabolic mirror as the primary mirror. I grind the mirror for two reasons: 1) I will enjoy the experience 2) No I have £ 1250 to spend on a mirror so I have to get 14-inch optical quality glass. I was thinking about using glass porthole, I heard you have to be 25 mm thick is this correct. There is also a site I could with the participation of or in any place you could pick one up from?
Larry is right, you are not satisfied with the results. Bull's-eye glass, where there are about the quality of glass you need for high quality optical mirror. Join a local astronomy Astronomical Society or club. Will reaches loan you can borrow until you save enough money to buy a good margin on their own.
